Alessi
Library Lago Orta, Italy with Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates While working at Venturi Scott Brown and Associates, Maurice Weintraub was involved with the design of a private library for Alberto Alessi. The library was inserted into 13th Century, 2 story 2 room, farmhouse. The painted wood interiors are a play off Greek Revival moulding. |

Here on the upper floor we see the restored roof of the farmhouse exposed to the room. Strict requirements for lineal shelf space lead to some creative solutions. The 'pop' bulls eye mouldings are hinged to access books which run behind.
