Fisher Residence
Barto, Pennsylvania

This project involved a series of additions to a 1816 farmhouse, the new construction of a potting shed and barn, and the reconstruction of a collapsed stone barn into a pool house and spa.

An addition to the west extends down a slight grade orienting itself towards the western branch of the Perkiomen Creek.  A kitchen on the first floor and study above recedes to allow the original structure to dominate.

Another addition to the south gestures to a large sloping meadow.  This wing contains a family room on the first floor and a master bedroom suite above.

Here the two wings come together.  A terrace nestled between serves as an extension to the kitchen and family room.

The focal point of the kitchen is a stone pizza oven seen here from the outside.

The side entry is tucked under the side porch roof and leads to the main entry hall of the home with a two sided fireplace as the central focus.

A balcony off the master bedroom provides a gracious view of the rolling landscape of eastern Berks County.  A large hillside meadow is at the heart of the view and the 30 acre country estate.
